Creating an Agent

From the dashboard, click New Agent. A modal appears with four options:

Guided Setup

The recommended starting point. A conversational AI asks you questions about your business, your agent's purpose, and your target audience — then generates a fully configured agent (system prompt, settings, knowledge suggestions) based on your answers.

Prompt to Build

Type a one-sentence description of what you want. The AI generates a complete agent design including template, suggested journey, and system prompt. Best when you have a clear idea and want to move fast.

Starter Kits

Pre-built templates for common use cases. Pick one and customise from there. Available kits include:

Knowledge Agent Kits

  • Luxe Recommender — Premium beauty consultation with 5 paths (skin assessment, routine builder, shade matching, ingredient guide, gift finder)
  • Retail Launch — Conversion-optimized product launch with hero-first entry and objection handling

Full manual setup. Choose your own template design, build your journey from scratch, and write your own system prompt. Best for advanced users who know exactly what they want.


Choosing Agent Type

When creating an agent, you'll first choose the type:

  • Knowledge Agent — For building conversational chat experiences. Users interact in real time through a chat widget or landing page.
  • Action Agent — For building automated workflows that run on triggers (schedules, webhooks, data changes). No user interaction needed.

The creation methods (Guided Setup, Prompt to Build, Starter Kits, Blank Canvas) are available for both types. Some starter kits are designed specifically for action agents.


After Creation

After creation, you land in the agent builder. Work through the steps:

Knowledge Agents

  1. Template — set the visual appearance (hero, colors, fonts, quick replies)
  2. Knowledge — link knowledge bases and product catalogs
  3. Journey — build the conversation flow
  4. Settings — configure AI behaviour, guardrails, and deployment

Action Agents

  1. Overview — configure triggers (schedule, webhook, data monitor)
  2. Workflow — build the automation flow
  3. Knowledge — link knowledge bases (optional)
  4. Settings — configure AI behaviour and publish

Publishing

Before publishing, Zimmer validates your agent:

  • Template: navigation bar and welcome card configured
  • Journey: at least one flow with no disconnected nodes or dead ends
  • Knowledge: at least one KB or catalog linked
  • AI Config: provider, model, and system prompt set

Fix any errors, then click Publish to go live.
